Insurance Coverage
The Interim Federal Health Program IFHP is funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). this program provides coverage to all eligible beneficiaries. Counselling Therapy Expenses are covered under the IFHP Supplemental Coverage. This coverage provides limited, temporary coverage of health-care benefits to people in the following groups who aren’t eligible for provincial or territorial health insurance:
Under certain conditions, clients eligible for the Interim Federal Health Program can have their counseling expenses covered.
The supplemental Interim Federal Health Program coverage is for protected persons, including resettled refugees, refugee claimants, and certain other groups. Under some conditions, if you are an IFHP beneficiary you could be covered for Sandstone Counselling services
Easy steps to follow to have your Counselling Therapy expenses covered under IFHP
# 1 – Make an online or in-person an appointment with a licensed physician;
#2 – Mention your concerns to your physician and ask for a written referral to a Registered Counselling Therapist;
#3 – Find your ICU number;*
If your physician has decided to make a written referral you to a counselling therapist
#4 – Call/text us (778) 765-4110 and mention that you are covered by IFHP program;
Have your ICU number ready to provide along with your contact information including your e-mail address
# 5 – We will send you a secure file transfer request by e-mail where you will be able to send us a picture or a digital copy of your physician’s referral + picture/copy of your benefits card
As soon we receive a copy of your physician’s referral we will verify your eligibility to be covered for counseling
* Please note that it takes about 2 days to receive an IFHP eligibility confirmation.
#6 – Once we confirmed your IFHP we will contact you to schedule your first counseling appointment
