Mindfulness can be described as becoming aware of the moment. Your awareness moves to the moment through noticing your experience of images around you, sounds, sensations, smells, and tastes. This grounding experience releases us from the busy mind and into the moment through our bodily sensation.
You can introduce mindfulness into any and every activity.
You can be mindful while: folding laundry, washing dishes, eating, walking, breathing, driving.
Mindfulness is noticing, starting with any or all of your five senses and within the present moment, what you are experiencing.
Feeling the temperature of your skin; smelling the air around you; tasting the water you drink; looking deeply at the tiny object in front of you; hearing each passing sound with interest and attention.
Noticing your experience of emotion; becoming aware of your passing thoughts; experiencing the sensation of your heartbeat; feeling the movement of your breath within your body.
