Sandstone Counselling Centre offers clinical counselling support to clients locally in Kamloops, and online throughout the province and other parts of Canada.

We offer membership on a team of collaborative ethical counselors offering quality service in private
practice. This could be set up working out of your existing space or taking advantage of established
office space. We provide regular Clinical Supervision with an experienced Clinical Supervisor as well
as peer consultation. This is an independent contractor position with autonomy, team support and a
financial opportunity.
We are looking for a well-rounded, experienced, client-focused clinician with some experience in
private practice. The successful candidate will want to eventually have an FT practice and is willing to
do the groundwork to build their clientele.

This is a contract counselling opportunity that offers flexible hours to suit any counsellor’s need and is perfect for masters-level counselors at any stage in their career.
This contract opportunity includes office space, most overhead expenses, administration/ receptionist assistance, marketing/networking opportunities, peer consultation, and a competitive compensation rate. This position is perfect for professionals who would like to spend their time counseling clients rather than the stress of day-to-day business operations.
Qualifications:
* Master’s degree specific to Counselling with appropriate registration.
* Holding an insurance coverage (Professional & 5 MillionLiability).
* Holding a City or district business license and renewing it annually (even for online work)
* Up-to-date technology and fast internet connection for online counselling;
* Ability to provide a WorkSafeBC Clearance letter – Contractors are responsible for paying their own Personal Optional Protection Insurance and must provide proof of clearance annually.
* Desire to contribute to the growth and wellness of the practice, and work with the group towards success for all.
* Be punctual, organized, efficient, and have a good understanding of computers/office suite programs.

Requirements:
- Technological Resources: home office with High-Speed Internet; mobile device & laptop/tablet;

- Availability: minimum 15 to 20 hours of counseling hours per week with a predictable pattern.
- Registration in Professional Association/College with appropriate Insurance coverage.
- Ability to undergo a criminal and background check – Candidates with unpardoned offenses will not be considered.
- We may require character references as part of the application process upon request. These references can be from employers, colleagues, or other professionals who can vouch for the character and ethical conduct of the candidate within the last 10 years.
Core Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s in psychology or an undergraduate degree with a major in a related health science discipline (preferred);
- 5 years of full-time clinical experience after graduation (a varied background is preferred)
- Strong ethical boundaries, and understanding of Privacy legislation.
- Comfort in processing financial transactions & attention to detail.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
